Today, business happens on the web. Repacket is a security agent that keeps employees safe while browsing the internet.
Our product inspects web traffic locally, using threat intelligence and LLMs to classify and block phishing, malware, data leaks, and more. Rather than blame users for making security mistakes, our mission is to make security invisible and automatic.
The Role
We’re looking for a UI/UX or Design Engineer who can design and build beautiful interfaces for our users. You are someone who can execute high quality designs and make them functional. You obsess over the details, and love to make the web page feel alive. Ideally, you are excited by the prospect of owning design and frontend across at an early stage company.
This is a hybrid role in Vancouver, BC, Canada (3+ days in office/wk). You will be one of the first people in our Vancouver HQ, and partner directly with our CEO to shape everything from product to culture. You will report to our CTO, and collaborate closely with our U.S. engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end frontend experience for our web application, setting a high standard for quality and implementation.
- Own web design at Repacket, leading the charge to uplevel our design wherever possible.
- Create designs in Figma or other design tooling, and implement them directly in our web app(s).
- Lead frontend architecture and evolve our design system and component libraries, ensuring consistency and quality across our product.
- Integrate interactive data visualizations to bring complex datasets to life and enable customers to understand their environment quickly.
- Work hard - disrupting a massive market with massive rewards take massive effort. The ideal candidate embraces this, leads from the front, and takes product ownership.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial experience building production-grade frontend applications
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience working with design and component systems.
- Experience implementing and designing data visualization components, using libraries and customizing them as needed.
- Ability to create new designs or adjust existing designs in Figma, with some proficiency, and the ability to implement them.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working with React, Next.js, and Typescript preferred
- Experience writing webapp backends in Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc).
- Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS or similar utility-first frameworks.
- Prior experience collaborating with external design partners and translating Figma into production code.
- Familiarity with security-focused or compliance-oriented products, especially within web security or threat-intelligence domains.
- Experience in high-growth startups with remote and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with AI tooling and AI-supported workflows within applications.
